On 11-15 July 2016\u00a0a delegation of the\u00a0World Organization of Bukovina Jews<\/strong>\u00a0traveled\u00a0to\u00a0North Bukovina<\/strong>\u00a0for a pilot project to survey\u00a0Jewish Heritage Sites<\/strong>\u00a0in the area around Storozhynetz.\u00a0The team members were\u00a0Sara Sweiry, Nathan Kinsbrunner and Baruch Eylon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During this trip the team surveyed 12 heritage sites, met with local officials, filled the questionnaire (using a mobile application that allows capturing text and pictures, including GPS coordinates) and posted the information on the web, to make it available to all interested people around the world.<\/p>\n

The team also prepared recommendations what to do in each site.

This post provides pictures taken by the team at\u00a0the Drazhinets (Drachyntsi)<\/strong> Jewish Memorial for the Drazhinets<\/strong> Jews that were murdered there in WWII\u00a0. The memorial\u00a0is located in the fields far from the village, near a garbage dump.
\nThe memorial was built by the authorities approximately in 2006.<\/p>\n

Here are\u00a0the pictures from there – the municipality, the team, the memorial part of which is falling, and a local person that was sent with us to show us where it is.
